Born and raised in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, he has established himself as a prominent figure dedicated to making a positive impact both locally and globally.

Educational Background and Career in Architecture: Vanburn’s architectural journey began at Central University de las Villas Clara in Cuba, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture in 2005, followed by a Master’s degree in Sustainable Construction for Developing Regions in 2007. His strong educational foundation, combined with fluency in Spanish, has enabled him to seamlessly integrate his passion for architecture with a commitment to sustainable development.

He furthered his expertise and knowledge by completing a Certificate in Non-Profit Fundraising Essentials from Acumen University in 2020 and a Certificate in Essential Leadership through a MOOC in Conservation in 2021.

Throughout his career, Vanburn has contributed to several prestigious architectural firms, including BriskTec Design Group, Jaredian Design Group, CCA Ltd, and Stewart Engineering Ltd. His roles have encompassed architectural consultation, design, project management, and administration, leaving a lasting impact on numerous projects.

Leadership in Conservation: As the CEO of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Conservation Fund (SVGCF) since 2018, Vanburn played a key role in establishing and operationalizing the organization. His leadership involves overseeing day-to-day operations, managing staff, implementing policies, and developing strategies to fulfill the SVGCF’s mission of environmental conservation. An avid scuba diver, he actively participates in underwater beach cleanups and coral restoration efforts.

Contributions to Sports and Entrepreneurship: A martial artist with a fifth-degree Taekwondo black belt, Vanburn serves as President of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Taekwondo Association and Vice-President and Co-Founder of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Archery Association. He is also a Level 1 Archery coach and national archer, reflecting his dedication to sports development. His past role as an Executive Member of the National Olympic Committee further highlights his commitment to nurturing athletic talent in his homeland.

In addition to his work in architecture and sports, Vanburn is a successful entrepreneur. He manages BriskTec Design Group, Yin-Yang Martial Arts and Fitness Center, and EKAPPS, a software and website development business. His leadership in these ventures includes team management, project oversight, client relations, and strategic planning.

National and International Engagement: Beyond his professional achievements, Vanburn actively engages in discussions on national development and represents St. Vincent and the Grenadines at regional and international forums. As Secretary of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Architects Council and the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Institute of Architects, he contributes to advancing the architectural profession.
