Conservation Finance Program Manager - Caribbean Biodiversity Fund

Tanja Lieuw was born and raised in Suriname and is currently based in the Dominican Republic.  She holds an MSc degree in both Hydrology (Civil Engineering) and Conservation of Biodiversity in the Caribbean. As the Conservation Finance Program Manager, she is responsible for managing the partnerships and engagements with 12 countries in the region that benefit from the Caribbean Biodiversity Fund Endowment Fund and ensuring that the countries can have access to sustainable sources of funding for conservation actions on the ground. 

She has over twenty years of experience working on sustainable environment topics in Latin America and the Caribbean such as on climate change policies, REDD+, climate and conservation finance, and managing large to medium-scale projects and programs with different donors such as GEF, IDB, UNDP, GCF, and others. She has worked for various government and international organizations in Suriname, Guyana, Chile and the Caribbean region.
