Natalia Arango is a Colombian conservation biologist with 30 years of experience working in biodiversity conservation, strategic planning, development of new business areas for conservation organizations, consolidating partnerships with national and regional authorities, multilateral organizations, international donors, corporations and NGOs.
Natalia has worked in Fondo Acción since 2010; between 2014 and 2018 she was its Technical Director and since October 2018 she has been the Executive Director, leading the growth of Fondo Acción with a team of approximately 120 staff members and working with approximately 24 donors. During her time in Fondo Acción she has focused on climate change mitigation, adaptation, children’s rights to a healthy environment, payment for ecosystem services and expanding financial sustainability strategies for conservation, such as carbon market participation.
She led the transition of Fondo’s investment portfolio towards 100% mission and ESG alignment. Recently, Natalia was part of the 2022 cohort of the Department of State, Fortune 500 Magazine and Vital Voices Fortune Most Powerful Women mentoring program. In 2023 she was invited as panelist in the biodiversity seminar, during the Interamerican Bank Assembly in Panamá.
