Michael McGreevey has more than 15 years experience in conservation project design, program development, grant and portfolio management, and conservation finance. As Senior Director for Conservation International’s Long-Term Finance program, Michael manages the design and establishment of innovative financing mechanisms around the world, including the first fund for indigenous-led conservation in Brazil and the largest-ever corporate investment in a single protected area in Chile.
Michael has also supported the design of $100+ million initiatives on indigenous-led and marine conservation, working with multi- and bilateral donors, corporate CSR programs, philanthropic foundations, governments, and local stakeholders. He currently provides conservation finance support to the Blue Nature Alliance, the Finance Lab for Irrecoverable Carbon, CI’s Conservation Finance Division, and a network of global partners.
