CTF Officer - Pew Charitable Trusts’ Enduring Earth

Katy Mathias is the Conservation Trust Fund Officer for The Pew Charitable Trusts’ Enduring Earth team. She focuses on CTF and governance design, evaluation, and implementation for Project Finance for Permanence initiatives within Pew’s portfolio. Prior to joining Pew, Katy was the Conservation Finance Project Manager for the Wildlife Conservation Society, where she served as a consultant to Conservation Trust Funds and other organizations on governance, resource mobilization, organizational effectiveness, and risk management, and supported WCS’s field programs on increasing sustainable finance for biodiversity conservation and protected areas. She is the co-author of the Conservation Trust Investment Survey (CTIS) study of the investment management practices of Conservation Trust Funds (CTFs), and co-developed the Investment Management Workshop and other educational programs related to the CTIS. She led the Working Groups for the 2020 update of the “Practice Standards for Conservation Trust Funds” and “Conservation Trust Funds 2020: Global Vision, Local Action” (of which she is also a co-author). From 2015-2017 she led the Secretariat of the Conservation Finance Alliance through an institutional transition. Katy has a Masters of Public and Private Management with concentrations in Strategy and Finance from the Yale School of Management, and a Bachelors degree in Political Science from Tufts University.
