Karolin Troubetzkoy is a distinguished leader in Caribbean hospitality and conservation, championing sustainable tourism and environmental resilience. As the Executive Director of Marketing and Operations at Anse Chastanet and Jade Mountain Resorts in Soufrière, Saint Lucia since 1986, she has propelled these award-winning resorts to international acclaim, securing their status among the top Caribbean resorts.

Her volunteer leadership extends to significant roles such as President of the Saint Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association (SLHTA) from 2010 to 2016 and from 2018 to 2021, where she initiated the Saint Lucia Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF) in 2013 to foster sustainable tourism practices. She also served as President of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) from 2016 to 2018, becoming the second woman to hold this prestigious position. Her tenure was marked by effective fundraising efforts for hurricane relief, showcasing exemplary crisis management. Troubetzkoy continues to influence the industry as a board member of the CHTA and as Chair of the CHTA Education Foundation, where she focuses on scholarships for Hospitality, Marine Health and Tourism Resilience.

In 2019, she was appointed Envoy to the Caribbean Challenge Initiative and now chairs both the Caribbean Biodiversity Fund (CBF) and the Saint Lucia National Conservation Fund (SLUNCF), advocating for sustainable practices across global island communities. She also serves on the board of the Global Island Partnership (GLISPA).

Her proactive approach to environmental challenges earned her the Order of Merit from Germany in 2019. Troubetzkoy’s early adoption of the “adopt a farmer” program enhanced local agricultural sustainability, embodying her resorts’ ethos to “Buy Local, Promote Local, Celebrate Local.”

Karolin Troubetzkoy holds a degree in business administration from the University of Applied Sciences in Munich, with a specialization in tourism marketing and hotel and restaurant management. Her expertise is further endorsed by a certificate in Destination Stewardship Management from George Washington University, acquired in 2023.
