Gilroy Pultie is a former St. Lucian Island Scholar and an electrical engineer with extensive knowledge and experience in electric utility management, having served with the St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) for thirty (30) years, the last twenty (20) of which, in a senior management capacity.
Mr.Pultie began his career as a trainee engineer in 1993, and served in numerous engineering capacities within LUCELEC’s Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Department, later being appointed the T&D Manager in 2001, a position he held until 2019. From 2015 to 2019, he led the company’s efforts in cost optimization and business process reengineering. He was later seconded to the Nevis Electricity Company Limited where he served as General Manager for one (1) year. Returning to LUCELEC in 2020, he was appointed Chief Engineer, a position he held until he assumed the role of Managing Director on July 1, 2023.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine (with distinction – 1991) and an MBA with specialisation in Finance, from Heriot-Watt University (with distinction – 2004). Amongst his other extensive professional qualifications include Leadership, Strategy Development and Implementation, Regulation and Hedging.
