Jessica Jacob is an economist, expert in environmental and climate finance, with over 15 years of experience helping countries and organizations develop, implement and monitor projects focused on climate change and sustainable development. Her work emphasizes economic sustainability, gender equality and social integration, ensuring that climate solutions are inclusive and impactful.
As CEO of SURECO & Partners, Jessica leads ESG-related consulting, specializing in access to climate finance. One of SURECO’s actual key projects is with CAF, where they are preparing a Concept Note for a regional Green Climate Fund (GCF) program aimed at bolstering institutional and technical capacities across Latin America and the Caribbean in the generation and use of climate information and early warning services. This initiative underscores her commitment to enhancing climate resilience through targeted financial interventions.
In addition to her leadership role at SURECO, Jessica directed the 2024-2030 Strategic Plan for RedLAC, focusing on long-term sustainability and advancing environmental trust funds across the region. Her work has had a significant impact on strengthening financial structures in support of environmental goals.
Jessica’s expertise extends beyond her firm. She serves as a consultant for prestigious international, regional, and national entities, including GIZ, the World Bank, IICA, FAO, UNEP, IFAD, UNESCO, and CABEI. Her role in these institutions involves advising on climate finance and sustainable development strategies and projects.
Prior to her current roles, Jessica was the Regional Manager for Latin America and the Caribbean at the GCF (Green Climate Fund), where she played a pivotal role in advancing climate projects in the region. She has also held influential positions such as Director of Social and Environmental Responsibility at the Infrastructure Development Bank of Colombia, Findeter, and as coordinator at the United Nations Environment Program Finance Initiative for Latin America and Africa, among others.
