Dr. Annett Fleischer was born in East Germany and has lived and worked in several countries including Mali, Cameroon, Uganda, Maldives and currently Saint Lucia. She has been part of international teams, NGOs, research institutions and development cooperation including Max Planck Institute (MPI), European University Institute (EUI), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) and International Organization for Migration (IOM).
Currently, Dr. Fleischer coordinates the Caribbean component of the GIZ Global Carbon Market Programme. In addition, she is responsible for the Euroclima programme for the Eastern Caribbean. Dr. Fleischer has cooperated for the past six years with the partner Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission in the areas of climate finance, NDC implementation and carbon markets
