Christian Asinelli is Corporate Vice President of Strategic Programming at CAF, the development bank of Latin America and the Caribbean. At the institution, he leads the sovereign financing strategy, technical assistance, and knowledge generation and dissemination, focusing on environmental sustainability, gender, inclusion and diversity, physical and digital infrastructure, social development, and urban development. He also spearheads the country engagement agenda and the incorporation of new members. He previously served as Undersecretary of International Financial Relations for Development at the Secretariat of Strategic Affairs of Argentina; President of the Banco Ciudad Foundation; Director of Institutional Development at CAF; and Undersecretary of Evaluation of Projects with External Financing. Padu Franco is an evolutionary and conservation biologist with over 20 years of experience advancing biodiversity research, conservation, and sustainable development across the Andes and Amazon. He has held senior leadership roles, including more than 15 years with the Wildlife Conservation Society, where he built and directed one of the most influential conservation portfolios in Latin America. His work has centered on bridging science, policy, and practice—designing and implementing initiatives with participatory, multi-stakeholder approaches and forging innovative public–private partnerships. Throughout his career, he has helped secure long-term funding mechanisms, supported Indigenous-led conservation, and guided programs that deliver measurable impact on the ground. He currently serves as Senior Program Manager for the Andes at the Bezos Earth Fund, where he works with governments, Indigenous and local organizations, and philanthropic partners to align efforts and drive transformative strategies for nature conservation.

Biologist with a PhD in Ecology from the University of Harvard (USA), Dr. Moreira is an expert in environment and sustainable development, with over 20 year experience in natural resources management, rural development and climate change and Latin America and Africa. She has also been nominated as the Global Leader for Biodiversity. She has served as professor at the University of Brasilia (UnB) and researcher at The Woods Hole Research Center (WHRC) in the United States. Author and co-author of four books and dozens of scientific publications, she was a founder and the first president of the Institute for Amazonian Research (IPAM). Dr. Moreira acts as board member in advisory boards of national and international private foundations. She is a founder and board member of the Brazilian Women Leaders Network for Sustainability, which involves leaders from private sector, government and civil society. She has received the Chico Mendes Florestania Prize and the Pirelli International Award for her work on conservation and sustainable development of the Brazilian Amazon.

Alicia Montalvo Santamaría has been, since June 2022, Manager of Climate Action and Positive Biodiversity at CAF, Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, leading the institution's climate change and biodiversity strategies. She is an economist and has a Master's degree in Public Administration from Harvard University. She has developed her professional career in public institutions and multilateral organizations, specializing in climate finance and financial cooperation for development, with a special focus on Latin America. As Member of the Spanish High Corps of State Economists and Trade Experts, she has held various management positions in the Ministry of Economy, with responsibilities in economic policy, external debt management and internationalization. At the Ministry of the Environment, she served as Director General of Climate Change, actively participating in international negotiations for the implementation of climate finance mechanisms. Prior to her position at CAF, she was the Economic and Commercial Counselor at the Embassy of Spain in Colombia and Executive Director for Spain at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Washington. In the academic field, she was for five years an associate professor of Environmental Economics and Natural Resources at the Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M).

Director of the Center for Public Studies (CEP) since March 2018. He served as a full professor at the School of Government at Adolfo Ibáñez University, where he was also dean, and is currently the Adam Smith Professor. He is recognized for his research on the thought of Adam Smith, the Scottish Enlightenment, and the history of economic thought. He is the author of Adam Smith in Context (translated into Spanish by Tecnos), Adam Smith: The Economist Philosopher (Fondo de Cultura Económica), and editor of New Voices on Adam Smith (Routledge), among other publications. He has been associated with the CEP since 2005, first as a member of the Board of Directors and later as a member of the Executive Committee. He is an industrial civil engineer, holds a degree in Philosophy and a Master's degree in Political Science from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, and a PhD and MPhil in Economics from the University of Cambridge at King's College.

PhD in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom. She served as Associate Professor in the Department of Geophysics at the University of Chile and as Director of the Center for Climate and Resilience Research (CR)2. Her research areas are paleoclimate and regional climate change, and she has also worked on the assessment of impacts in different sectors, such as agriculture and water resources, using numerical climate models as analytical tools. Maisa Rojas was Coordinator of the Scientific Committee for COP25 of the Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation; member of the Presidential Advisory Council for COP25; and participant in the Chilean delegation to COP26. In addition, she coordinated the Scientific Advisory Committee on Climate Change and was a lead author of the Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). She also served as a coordinating lead author of the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report (AR6).

Klaus Schmidt-Hebbel is an international consultant, advisor, and public speaker. He is Full Professor of Economics at Universidad del Desarrollo and Catholic University of Chile. Dr. Schmidt-Hebbel is a board member of Banco BCI and was a board member of AFP Habitat. He is a board member of Reforestemos Foundation, the Advisory Council of the Chilean Foundation for the Pacific, and the Advisory Council of the Chilean Chapter of The Nature Conservancy. Dr. Schmidt-Hebbel held the position of Chief Economist of the Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and Director of the OECD Economics Department in Paris in 2008-2009. He was Chief of Economic Research at the Central Bank of Chile during the previous 12 years. Before that he was Principal Economist in the Research Department of the World Bank in Washington. Dr. Schmidt-Hebbel has been Chairman of Chile's Advisory Fiscal Council, Chairman of the Financial Advisory Board of Chile's Sovereign Wealth Funds, General Director of Grupo Res Publica Chile, President of the Chilean Economic Association, and President of the Monetary Club. Schmidt-Hebbel was elected '2008 Economist of the Year' by his peers in Chile. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a BA and a MA in Economics from Catholic University of Chile.

Born in Valdivia, she is the daughter of Ester Aurora Fecci Pérez, professor at the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences of the Austral University of Chile, and Carlos Alberto Amtmann Moyano, professor and former rector of the Austral University of Chile. She completed her secondary education at Colegio Domus-Mater in Valdivia. She graduated as a Teacher of History, Geography, and Social Sciences from the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso in 2012, and holds a Master’s degree in Applied Economics in Public Policy from Universidad Alberto Hurtado, as well as in International Politics and Economic Development from Fordham University.

A dual citizen of New Zealand and France, Cameron joined Island Conservation as Vice President, Conservation Programs, on 1 July 2024. He has extensive experience in international relations, cooperation and sustainable development having led delegations, developed and implemented programmes and partnerships and participated in numerous international conferences, negotiations, meetings and workshops, particularly in the fields of oceans, climate, biodiversity and resilient development in island environments. Cameron holds bachelor’s degrees in law and arts from the University of Auckland (New Zealand), a Master of public law and a Master of Advanced Studies in international relations from the University of New Caledonia and is currently completing a PhD on climate litigation and climate justice at the University of Paris-Saclay (France). He is a member of the IUCN Climate Crisis Commission and World Commission on Environmental Law, the Special Envoy for Small Island Developing States (SIDS) with the ‘Towards IPOS initiative’ for an International Panel for Ocean Sustainability and an auditor of France’s Institute of Advanced Studies in National Defence (IHEDN). He is also a qualified lawyer, admitted to the bar in New Zealand and New South Wales (Australia), and has worked across both common and civil law jurisdictions. Among his previous roles, for almost a decade Cameron was Deputy Director-General of the Pacific Community (SPC), the Pacific Islands region’s largest and oldest intergovernmental organisation. Throughout his career, Cameron has worked closely with and alongside Heads of State and Government, Ministers and senior representatives from a wide range of countries, international organisations, the private sector and civil society around the globe. He has also taught international environmental law and governance at the University of New Caledonia and the National University of Vanuatu and been a guest lecturer on climate justice at Kadir Has University (Turkey) and foreign policy (University of Otago). She has over 25 years of experience in protected and conserved areas, marine, and wetland governance and policies, both nationally and internationally. Carolina worked for the Ministry of Environment in Brazil and UNESCO, and moved to the UK to coordinate the global policy biodiversity and marine agendas for BirdLife International. Currently, she is a Senior Policy Advisor for area-based conservation measure at The Nature Conservancy, and the global policy lead for the TNC 30x30. Carolina is co-chair of the IUCN OECM working group for NGOs and researchers.

Jorge Oviedo, President of RedLAC and Executive Director of FIAES, is an agronomist with a Master's degree in Integrated Natural Resource Management, specializing in Environmental Economics and Sociology from the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center (CATIE) in Costa Rica. He has extensive experience in management and strategic leadership in various institutions related to agriculture, the environment, and rural development in the region. He currently serves as Executive Director of the Environmental Investment Fund of El Salvador (FIAES), as well as President of the Conservation and Restoration Program of the Lempa River. Oviedo has also enriched his professional career as a university professor in several postgraduate programs related to climate change management, sustainable agriculture, and the environment in El Salvador and Central America. Thanks to his outstanding career in environmental issues, particularly focused on green finance and sustainability, he currently leads the Latin American and Caribbean Network of Environmental Funds (RedLAC) as elected President for the 2022–2025 term, representing the network at global events related to Conservation Finance and Economics.

History, Geography and Civics teacher and Bachelor of Education from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. She began her career in schools and at the Ministry of Education, later focusing her work on projects with a strong social and environmental commitment. Since 2018, she has served as CEO of the Tantauco Park Foundation, leading one of Chile’s most important private conservation initiatives. Under her leadership, the park has strengthened its role as a natural sanctuary of more than 115,000 hectares in southern Chiloé, promoting the protection of unique species, ecosystem restoration, scientific research, and environmental education. During her tenure, she has fostered multiple partnerships with universities in Chile and around the world for environmental protection. From close collaborations with local communities in the depths of Patagonia to active participation in presidential, ministerial, and sectoral councils in Chile, Bárbara has raised awareness of the importance of integrating biodiversity conservation into the country’s development processes.
